Three by Beckett

Three by Beckett features three short play fragments for the theatre, brought to the Edinburgh for the first time by John Calder, as he brings his Godot Company back to the Traverse.

Ohio Impromptu (1980), features a man in the last stages of his life facing an image of himself as he reads grave, final passages from a memoir.

Rough for Theatre One , sees a blind man and a cripple brought hopelessly together, anti-social and alone they are drawn to each other, and yet repelled, with violent consequences.

Rough for Theatre Two , features two guardians as they talk of a young man, who threatens to jump from a window above them. Poignant and funny, this short as with the others shows off Beckett's writing and the talents of it's expert cast.

Three by Beckett is a treat for the Beckett veteran and novice alike. The Godot Company intends to tour all of Beckett's work within the next few years. Can't wait to see what's next.
