Four Nights in Knaresborough

In December 1170 Thomas Beckett, the Archbishop of Canterbury, was murdered by four Knights, probably under the orders of Becket's one time friend King Henry II. The particulars are unknown: exactly what happened and why.

Theatre Enigma pick up where history left off with Paul Webb's script that follows the four murderers in the year that they spent following Becket's attack, trapped in Knaresborough castle as the world outside hailed the Archbishop for his martyrdom.

Webb's text is violent, sexy and extremely funny in parts and Enigma's production features excellently energetic and thoroughly enjoyable performances from its cast. This is Theatre Enigma's second production and a confident directorial debut for actor Sean Kane. The audience absolutely loved it.

Four Nights is possibly a little too long, some editing is maybe what is needed, as long as none of the strong, hilariously funny characters are lost. Good Stuff.
